Last Saturday marked the official opening of the 19th edition of Nuart Festival and we were happy to once again attend the festivities which this year lined up with the local Pride celebrations. Backed up by the great weather, the good vibes from the outdoors were successfully moved into the former brewery tunnels of Tao Scene where Nuart’s indoor exhibition took place. Working around this year’s theme of the festival, Brand new, you’re retro, the works presented here successfully utilized the unique opportunity for the […]

As we previously reported, for the third time in a row we’ve spent the Easter weekend taking part in Nuart Aberdeen‘s program while enjoying the new works created on the streets of sun-basked Aberdeen in Scotland. This year’s festival included 13 artists from around the globe, who added their signature marks to an already impressive collection of public art produced throughout the city. Fully aware of the risks of possible oversaturation with large murals, Nuart Festival director and curator, Martyn Reed, made sure the works did […]
Our longtime friends from the Nuart Festival recently announced the full lineup for the latest iteration of their large international project – Nuart Aberdeen, which will take place between the 18th-21st of April. Dedicated to helping turn the Grey City into an inspiring environment filled with […]
Recently in Croydon, Dotmasters took a couple weeks to finish two murals for the The Croydon Mural Project. Given two walls facing opposite of each other in the South London town, the British artist decided to continue his Toy Town series, first started years ago at Nuart in Stavanger, with a Ragdoll and Astroboy. The pieces seem to be a play on a well known graffiti term and are based on actual toys he owns. Photo credit: Ian Cox & the artist.

You can enjoy all our coverage here, but if you want to own a part of history, the good people behind the festival have released a 15th Anniversary Boxset. Featuring signed screenprints from 15 artists including Bortusk Leer, Jamie Reid, Dotdotdot, Isaac Cordal, Martha Cooper, Futura (seen above), Fra Biancoshock, Martin Whatson (hand-finished), Icy & Sot, Ella & Pitr, […]
Hot on the heels of the recent opening of her Fata Morgana solo show at Galerie L.J. in Paris, Swoon (interviewed) made a trip to London last week. AM had the pleasure of spending some time with the artist over a couple of days while she prepared a site-specific installation at Black Rat Projects for Small Acts of Resistance, a group show that will also feature works by Peter Kennard, Dotmasters, Matt Small (interviewed), Know Hope, and Armsrock (interviewed). The exhibition’s title references the recently-published book […]
