AM stopped by last week to check out the Culver City based LeBasse Projects and the art that traveled to New York for their “Pop Up” show. Only in town for less than a week, “Go East” showcased the work of Yoskay Yamamoto (featured and seen above), Tessar Lo, Edwin Ushiro, Joao Ruas, Eric Fortune (interviewed), Mia (interviewed), and Nate Frizzell (featured). Edwin Ushiro has just released two new prints from last month’s hauntingly beautiful LeBasse Projects‘ show, “Softly Encompassing the Womb” (covered). “Time Therefore Remained Idle Without Light Extruding Acceptance,” pictured above, is Edwin’s interpretation of a Japanese turned Hawaiian ghost story from his youth, while “Rediscovery of the Infinite Stars Inside the Shell,” pictured after the jump, is a self portrait of the artist with his childhood pet, “Rusty.” Moderately priced at one hundred and two hundred and fifty dollars a piece, Edwin’s two new […]

Here’s a pretty sweet piece from Hawaii native Edwin Ushiro’s upcoming show opening September 12th at LeBasse Projects.
