POW! WOW! ’15 / Previews: Thinkspace – “Exploring The New Contemporary Movement” @ Honolulu Museum Of Art School

Continuing their involvement with POW! WOW! Hawaii, Thinkspace will be curating a second edition (see 2014) of their Exploring The New Contemporary Movement group exhibition for this year’s event. Upcoming: “La Familia – 10 Years of Thinkspace”

Coming up on January 10th, Thinkspace in Los Angeles will be celebrating their 10 year anniversary with La Familia, a group exhibition featuring over 100 participants. Each artist will be creating a 10″ x 10″ piece on panel (provided by Trekell) like what Scott Listfield painted above – an intriguing post-apocalyptic look at the Culver City gallery where only their EINE painted roll down door survived. Releases: Ben Eine – “URBAN [E]” Cubes

The UK-based Ben Eine recently released a novel new three-dimensional art object that allows fans to add a unique representation of his typography to their collection. The limited edition cubes come signed and are presented in concrete, metal and wood, measuring 12 x 12 x 12 cm. They are produced by Fragile Ventures in a run of 100 and can be purchased here for £2,500.00. Discuss Ben Eine here.

Openings: Ben Eine – “Heartfelt” @ Judith Charles Gallery

On Wednesday, renowned graffiti artist Ben Eine unveiled a new series of works at Judith Charles Gallery. Entitled Heartfelt, the street typography wizard conveyed his thoughts & emotion through his bold color compositions. The exhibition showcased both his large format canvases and his print-making techniques. Using subtle changes in color and texture, EINE changes perception with his Jedi mind trick word plays. This great show is up until March 16th, so stop by if you’re in NYC. Discuss Eine here.

Showing: Eine – “Innocence” @ CHG Circa

This week will be the final days left for fans in Los Angeles of Eine to check out his solo show at CHG Circa. Entitled Innocence, the body of work assembled from the London-based letter specialist features the alphabet that has made him famous mixed in with some imagery that looks to be dealing with ideas of censorship and the ever growing prevalence of CCTV monitoring. Ben Eine for Louis Vuitton

Continuing their long history of artists collaborations, Louis Vuitton’s latest project features the letters of Ben Eine. In particular, the Frence fashion house has been working on a series of scarves with street and graffiti artists (also see RETNA, Aiko, Os Gemeos) so the UK-based artist’s alphabet musings are just the latest iteration.
