It’s been almost a year and a half since Eric Joyner (interviewed) last had a solo show (covered). So, fans of his signature robots and donuts will be happy to hear that his next body of work, entitled It’s A Jungle Out There, will be will be on display at the Corey Helford Gallery starting January 21st. AM recently attended the star studded charity art show Made In Polaroid held at Phillips de Pury. The benefit was a one night auction that featured 50 works created by the 50-50-50 project using Polaroid’s mobile printer. All proceeds went to support Free Arts NYC. Openings: Eric Joyner – “Donut Logic” @ Corey Helford Gallery

Last Saturday, robots invaded Culver City at the Corey Helford Gallery in the form of paintings from Eric Joyner, bringing along with them their food of choice – donuts! As Eric states in an interview with AM last week, his initial inspiration was his collection of tin robots and watching the movie Pleasantville, where Jeff Daniels paints a still-life of donuts. As we mentioned a couple weeks ago, Eric Joyner will be opening his newest show at Corey Helford this Saturday, August 14th. We had the opportunity to get together with Eric for a session of questions and answers as well as getting an advanced look at some of the pieces in this show.
