Streets: El Mac (Denmark)

As we previously shared with you, El Mac is currently in Denmark for a show that opened tonight at Galerie Wolfsen. Along with an impressive array of new paintings created with his signature spray technique, the LA-based street muralist also gifted the city of Aalborg with a new public piece to enjoy. Streets: Dal East (London)

South Africa-based DAL and his wife Faith47 have been busy painting murals nonstop since they arrived in London several weeks ago. Our photographer on scene, Butterfly, caught up with the prolific artist as he worked on one of his walls near Brick Lane. After revealing a new piece last month with strong placement from Invader in Paris, our Streets World Roundup feature returns with another piece playing with some nostalgic characters from childhood for most of us. Streets: Zezão for The Canals Project (London)

Local and international street artists have been invited by The Legacy List recently to create public works along along East London canals. The  roster includes artists Mark Lyken (Scotland), Teo Moneyless (Italy),  Zezão (Brazil), Remed (Spain),  Ekta Ekta (Sweden), and Interesni Kazki (Ukraine). Curated by Cedar Levisham, the artworks will be installed during summer 2013 and should reflect the location and history of the canals in a variety of innovative ways. Take a look at what  Zezão painted below and read more about The Canals Project. Streets: JR – “Inside Out: NYC” @ Time Square

The French street artist and photographer seems to be everywhere. After our interview with JR last month, he has since brought his Wrinkles of the City project to Berlin (streets and in the gallery), premiered his latest film at the Tribeca Film Festival, got up on Riker’s Island, and gifted New York with a new collaborative show and mural with José Parlá. Remed & Okuda @ Campo Viejo (Spain)

Remed and Okuda recently got together for a joint project in Spain at the Campo Viejo vineyards. Along with a mural they worked on, the two Spanish artists also collaborated on several sculptures at the Logroño location including the sweet large scale piece seen above. Studio Visit: Alex Lukas @ Guerrero Gallery

As an encore to his shows in 2010 and 2011 at the Guerrero Gallery, the Philadelphia-based artist will be opening a new solo at the San Francisco showspace this Saturday (May 11th). Reinterpreting American landscapes with a post-apocalyptic tilt, Lukas’ work  imagines a possible desolate future filled with of destruction and violence.
