AM swung by White Walls and The Shooting Gallery yesterday to say hi to AJ Fosik and Greg Gossel (interviewed) who are both busy installing their new solo shows in preparation for tonight’s opening. AM recently had the opportunity to sit down with Minneapolis-based artist Greg Gossel as he was preparing for his upcoming and massively ambitious solo show, “Happy Endings.” Greg chatted with us about the evolution of his art, themes of his current show, his inspirations and even addressed the comparisons that have long been made between him and the NYC collective Faile. “Happy Endings” opens this Saturday at The Shooting Gallery. Openings: New Brow @ Alternative Cafe & Film Screening

Just in time for South by Southwest (SXSW), Justin from Shooting Gallery set up an art show at Alternative Cafe in Austin that showcased works by many of the artists featured in the film, “New Brow: the Rise of Contemporary Art.” Artists in the film include: Eric Joyner, Charles Krafft, Shawn Barber, Travis Louie, Anthony Ausgang, Ron English, Mike Giant, Isabel Samaras, Camille Rose Garcia, Van Arno, Shepard Fairey, Liz McGrath, Henry Lewis, Tim Biskup, Gary Baseman, Glenn Barr, Kill Pixie, Niagara, Sas & Colin […]
