Openings: LeBasse Projects (Culver City Artwalk)

The first stop of the Culver City Artwalk for AM was the group show at LeBasse Projects. Along with a strong lineup of gallery regulars, artists new to us such as Jean-Pierre Roy were featured during this annual event. His colorful paintings of imaginary landscapes drew us in with their dream-like vibrancy and fancy. More pics after the jump…

Teaser: Herakut @ Gallery Springmann.Varol

After getting off to a great start by holding a grand opening show with French sensation JR (covered), Galerie Springmann.Varol follows it up with another stellar choice – Herakut (interviewed). Although we just got a taste of their recent work, we are looking forward to this solo exhibition by the German street art duo. We’ll have more to follow as we draw closer to the opening on June 11th. Discuss Herakut here.

Video: Herakut Live Painting in Berlin

Remember that live painting session last month in Berlin where Herakut (interviewed) worked on and donated a painting to a hospital? Well, here is some nice video footage of the event. Discuss Herakut here.

Herakut Live Painting in Berlin

As most people who have seen it before can attest, live painting is definitely up there as one of the most fascinating experiences for art fans and collectors. Take a look at all the different layers and intricacies (after the jump) as Herakut (interviewed) gradually built up the layers of the painting that was donated to the Berliner Charité, a hospital. The event took place last week at the “Style Project Room” in Berlin (details previously posted). Check out all the photos after the jump…

Benefit: Herakut Live Painting (Berlin)

Herakut is doing a live painting session in Berlin on October 8th at the “Style Project Room” (sponsored by stylemag.net and Partisan Vodka). This “One Night – One Piece” event will take place from 7-11 pm at Schonhauser Allee 8, Berlin Mitte. Hera (interviewed) tells us that she and Akut will be working on a triptych with one of the pieces being donated to the “Berliner Charité,” which is a hospital. Read what she had to say about the project after the jump…

Showing: Herakut @ Berliner Liste Art Fair

Looks like there’s some new work from Herakut (interviewed) currently showing at this years’ Berliner Liste art fair.  Established six years ago, the fair has grown into the second largest in Berlin (behind the Art Forum) and has become known for its support of fresh young contemporary artists. German collaborative duo Herakut certainly fit the bill coming off successful shows in the UK and in NY.  Some more images as well as a video…  After the jump.

Video: Word to Mother, Hera, & Chris Stain @ Nuart 2008

Our friend Ian Cox, whose photos we referenced for our preview of this year’s Nuart Festival, also recently put together a time-lapse video of Word to Mother (interviewed) putting up a piece from Nuart 2008. In the video, you can also see a nice Hera (interviewed) piece on the left. Check out the time-lapse video for the Hera piece as well as a Chris Stain (interviewed) video after the jump…
