Cyrcle. For Beef & Liberty Restaurant (Hong Kong)

Upcoming: KAWS – “Clean Slate” Sculpture @ Harbour City (Hong Kong)

After sharing photos with you earlier this week from Tomokazu Matsuyama’s (interviewed) current showcase at Harbour City in Hong Kong, we now have word of what comes next at the Tsim Sha Tsui hotspot. Openings: Matzu / Tomokazu Matsuyama – “Sky Is The Limit” @ Harbour City (Hong Kong)

Over the weekend, Tomokazu Matsuyama (interviewed) opened his new showcase (arranged by LeBasse Projects) at Harbour City in Hong Kong. Like other artists before him – KAWS (here), Yayoi Kusama, Yue Minjun (here), and Florentijn Hofman (here) – the New York based artist’s work dominated the main entrance and was also supported by a small exhibition of his work. Basel Week HK ’14: Ryan McGinley @ Galerie Perrotin (Hong Kong)

While in town Basel Week Hong Kong, we made sure to stop by the local branch of Galerie Perrotin to take in the work of Ryan McGinley. Vertical Color of Sound is a nice introduction of the New York-based artist to fans in Asia as it features a election of his different series of work. Openings: D*Face – “Honestly Dishonest” @ Above Second

During Basel HK week, another major show we hit was from British artist D*Face (interviewed) at Hong Kong’s Above Second Gallery. Presented by Coates & Scarry, the solo entitled Honestly Dishonest featured 18 fresh works focusing on society’s increasing appetite for information. D put together layers of the commercial output which bombard our minds on a daily basis, creating something new and different in and of itself.
