Streets: Telmo Miel x James Bullough (Berlin)

Spending a week together in Berlin, Telmo Miel and James Bullough worked on a stunning new piece (located Bernburger Straße 35) that blends the work of the street artists together perfectly. Painting the large wall for the Berlin Mural Fest with the “Unity” concept proposed by Urban Nation in mind, the Dutch duo mixed their patchy & segmented imagery with the locally-based Bullough’s glitchy portraiture in a way the matches their styles up amazingly well. Take a look are more photos below… Discuss Telmo Miel here. Discuss James Bullough here.

Openings: James Bullough – “Breaking Point” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Last month, at the same time as Curiot’s immersive showing at Thinkspace Gallery, the Berlin-based James Bullough also presented an all new set of works. Collectively entitled Breaking Point, the new paintings are classic examples of the American artist’s fragmented portraiture. Inspired by “moments in life, good or bad, that hit like a flash, break you down and rearrange your parts, when everything seems to change in an instant,” Bullough’s new pieces feature his levitating characters, rendered with glitchy overlapping segments. Basel Week Miami ’15 / Streets: Li-Hill x James Bullough – “Radioactive Cascade”

As we continue our look at the prolific street activity centered around the Wynwood District during Basel Week Miami, the next mural that caught our eyes is the collaborative effort between Li-Hill (interviewed) and James Bullough. Taking advantage of how well Li-Hill’s kinetic imagery and Bullough’s glitch-like style mesh together, its creation was timed to coincide with the COP21 Paris Climate Conference. Painted for Pangeaseed’s Seawalls series of walls and curated by Urban Nation, this piece entitled Radioactive Cascade references some of the dangers that the world’s oceans are facing.
