Preview: Ashley Wood – “Gathering” Group Show (Beijing)

Opening in Beijing towards the end of the month will be “Gathering”, a group show involving Ashley Wood, Jeremy Geddes (interviewed), Dorophy Tang, Kenny Wong, Phil Hale, Rufus Dayglo, and Threezero, a convergence of art, comics, toys, and sculptures. We weren’t all too familiar with Jeremy Geddes’ work when we planned our coverage of the HK Venture show where Ashley Wood was the main draw for us. Seeing Geddes’ amazing visuals was definitely an eye-opener for us, so much so that we dedicated another article focusing in on his “cosmonaut” series of paintings. Openings: HK Venture (Part II) – Jeremy Geddes

As we reported last month, the “HK Venture” exhibition featured an artist whose work left a lasting impression in our minds – Jeremy Geddes. The Melbourne-based artist has worked in illustration and comics, picking up a Spectrum Gold Award along the way. His new body of work features cosmonauts, seemingly weightless like in space, but suspended in urban environments instead.
