Openings: Kathie Olivas & Brandt Peters – “Outer Limits” @ Sally Centigrade

A couple of weeks ago, Sally Centigrade in Denver opened up a joint show from Kathie Olivas & Brandt Peters entitled Outer Limits. The husband and wife team presented a cluster of original works interspersed with various art toys as well as custom hand-painted items. Preview: “Zombie” @ Last Rites Gallery

Tomorrow night (May 25th), the Zombie group exhibition will be opening at the Last Rites Gallery in New York. Featuring a roster hand-selected by Travis Louie to give their artistic interpretation of the undead, the show is sure to be an interest among fans of these artists. Here we have more preview images of pieces that are destined for the show that will include paintings, drawings, and sculptural pieces including the one seen above (cropped) from Chris Seamon. Baby Tattooville ’12: Art Jam

The Art Jam is the centerpiece of Baby Tattooville (see 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008). As in the previous five years, artists in attendance collaborate on the large piece from the start of the BT weekend on Friday until the Saturday night deadline. Prints are then made of this completed painting and distributed to attendees after the weekend. Openings: “Baby Tattooville Inside Out: A Private Affair Made Public” @ Riverside Art Museum

Last Friday night, the Riverside Art Museum hosted the opening for the annual exhibition associated with the Baby Tattooville event in the neighboring Mission Inn. As usual, the showing (this year entitled Baby Tattooville Inside Out: A Private Affair Made Public) featured work from the artists who were participating in this year’s art retreat including Coop, Mark Frauenfelder, Brandi Milne (seen above), Nouar, Kathie Olivas, Nathan Ota, Brandt Peters, Ragnar, Rob Reger, and RISK, all who made it out to the opening reception. Baby Tattooville ’12: First Look

As referenced to earlier this afternoon, we checked into our room at the Mission Inn in Riverside for a weekend of art at this year’s Baby Tattooville. After registration, attendees were welcomed in for an introduction to this year’s featured artists which included Coop, Mark Frauenfelder, Brandi Milne, Nouar, Kathie Olivas, Nathan Ota, Brandt Peters, Ragnar, Rob Reger, RISK, and surprise guest Gris Grimly. Last night, AM attended the opening party for the South Park Art Gallery (previewed). What better way to kick off your Halloween festivities than with this group show at Yves Laroche in Montreal. “Phantasmagoria” reunites the creative minds of Chet Zar, Travis Louie (interviewed), Kathie Olivas, and Brandt Peter (interviewed) for this creepy theme show. Preview: Kathie Olivas & Brandt Peters – “Living Between Worlds” @ Gallery 1988 (LA)

Husband and wife artist duo Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters (interviewed) are set to open their joint show this Friday night, April 2nd at Gallery 1988 in LA. When these two long time collaboraters are involved, expect paintings, sculptures, and some fabulous customs with their own signature imagery and characters.
