This Saturday, November 11th, KP Projects in Los Angeles will be opening a new group show entitled Gilded Horizons. Included in the exhibition are Johnny “KMNDZ” Rodriguez, JP Naeng, Jean-Pierre Arboleda, Melany Meza-Dierks, and Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed), who contributed the stunning new geisha painting seen above among other works. Upcoming: KMNDZ – “I’d Rather Love You” @ Merry Karnowsky Gallery

After showing with Merry Karnowsky in 2012 (covered), Johnny Rodriguez (aka KMNDZ) will be back on February 7th with another solo show. I’d Rather Love You will feature imagery that we have come to love from the Los Angeles-based artist featuring an interplay of intricately detailed birds, bombs, flowers, jewels, numerology and other paraphernalia rendered in a rust-colored palette. In the works is also a massive 8 feet painting that will serve as the centerpiece of the exhibition. Discuss KMNDZ here.

Over the weekend, the Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles showcased work from artists that they will work with in the future with a group show entitled Praeteritum Nunc Futurum.
