Newly formed art collective devNgosha recently stopped by the offices of theAudience and painted a new mural entitled Connected. Situated in the same building that houses work from JR (covered) and Kozyndan (covered), this new multi-wall project combines the talents of Devin Liston and Gosha Levochkin. Upcoming: “Supernatural” @ Japanese American National Museum

Next month in Downtown LA’s Little Tokyo, the Japanese American National Museum will be hosting a group exhibition from three artists – Audrey Kawasaki, Edwin Ushiro, and Timothy Teruo Watters. Entitled Supernatural, the showing will give an opportunity for all three artists to explore otherworldly concepts, illustrating how traditional ideas have evolved and have been adapted over time. If this newest piece from Ushiro is any indication, this is one show you don’t want to miss (opening on February 9th). Discuss Edwin Ushiro here.

Just this Saturday night, the LeBasse Projects in Culver City hosted the opening for Nate Frizzell (interviewed) and his newest solo show entitled Spectrum. The new paintings each featured the use of one pre-dominant color and his interpretations on the best imagery to fit that color, and when taken in total combine into one cohesive body of work. Openings: David MacDowell – “Project Mayhem” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Returning to the site of his last solo show (covered), Dave MacDowell (interviewed) presented a new body of work over the weekend at the Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City. Entitled Project Mayhem, the exhibition certainly caused some damage that as MacDowell targeted anyone and everyone with his special form of caricatured satire – from religious, to political figures, and pop culture icons. Just this Saturday night, the Mark Moore Gallery in Culver City hosted the newest solo show from Andrew Schoultz entitled Fall Out. As we have come to expect form the San Francisco-based painter, the showspace was transformed with a series of installations. Tomorrow night (January 12th), the LeBasse Projects in Culver City will be presenting all new works from Nate Frizzell (interviewed). Spectrum will be his first solo showing of oil paintings since 2011 (covered) and as the title suggests, each painting will be focusing on a single color from his palette – in turn making up the full color range.
