Last night, AM was fortunate enough to attend Brendan Monroe’s (interviewed) opening and book signing at the Park Life Store in San Francisco.  Brendan, who is soft spoken, modest and rather inviting, cheerfully signed and doodled copies of his new book, b. monroe. Previews: I Know What You’re Thinking @ Sloan Fine Art

Next Wednesday, March 18th, Sloan Fine Art will be opening a new three-person show entitled I Know What You’re Thinking, featuring the work of Seonna Hong (above), Caroline Hwang and Saelee Oh. Seonna Hong is a multi-talented artist working in painting, illustration and animation. She is also the only non-Japanese artist in Takashi Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki group. Openings: Lola’s Natural Beauties and Superschool @ Copro Gallery

“Natural Beauties” and “Superschool” (previewed) opened at Copro Gallery this past Saturday, March 7th. Upon entering Copro Gallery, you will see Lola’s solo show “Natural Beauties” on display in the room directly ahead. At the other wing of the gallery you will find “Superschool”, a group exhibition curated by Lola.  The two shows are on display until March 28th. Camille Rose Garcia Squid & Peppermint Man Dolls

As previously noted, Camille Rose Garcia’s work will be on display starting today at the Jonathan Levine Booth (SCOPE) now that the NY art fairs have started. Also available will be her wonderful Seymore Squidley (48″ x 8″ x 8″) and Peppermint Man (26″ x 5.5″ x 5.5″) plushes priced at $400 and $600 respectively released by her toy company PITCO. Preview: Lola & Super School @ Copro Gallery

A couple interesting shows are opening this weekend at Copro Gallery (formerly Copro Nason Gallery) at the Bergamot Station complex in Santa Monica.
