Michael Hussar returned for Baby Tattooville 2010 and once again graciously hosted one of the key events of the special weekend. BT attendees joined in on sketching the models in one room, while artists such as Ron English, Johnny “KMNDZ” Rodriguez, Van Arno and Robert Williams could be seen participating in photoshoots with the models, sketching under Sketch Theatre and just flat out partying. Great art, beautiful models and partying until the morning… […]

Audrey Kawasaki Unfinished Pieces

It’s amazing how self-critical some artists can be when it comes to their own artwork. We have even heard of some burning work that doesn’t sell after a show. We suppose that is the price of perfection! Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) recently posted up some unfinished paintings that just didn’t make the cut for some reason or another – like the one above which would have fit nicely with her upcoming series of shows in Australia next month. Most of these paintings passed the test of […]

Baby Tattooville ‘10 – Artist Dinner and Collaboration Drawing

Baby Tattooville 2010 is underway!  The day before the official madness began, featured artists were able to take a moment to catch up with one another over dinner and learn what BT is all about from the ringmaster himself, Bob Self.  Proudly sponsored by Arrested Motion, artists and crew spent their first night in Riverside dining on delicious fried catfish, tortas, and burritos at BT fave eccentric dining spot Tio’s Tacos. Afterwards, it was back to the historic Mission Inn, BT headquarters, so that the […]

Art Focus: Jacek Yerka

We recently discovered the work of Jacek Yerka and we can’t get enough of it. The Polish artist’s paintings are filled with surreal visions of a beautiful world filled with landscapes and structures that the viewer wishes could be true because it would just be so damn cool. He cites cites Hieronymus Bosch and Pieter Bruegel among others as having influenced his work and it’s not hard to see why. Take a look at more images from Yerka after the jump…
