Preview: Scott Radke – “Burlap” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Opening alongside Jen Lobo this Saturday night at Thinkspace, is the Ohio-based Scott Radke (interviewed). Featuring over two dozen pieces from the soulful sculptor, by far the most ever in one location, Burlap is a cant-miss show for fans of his beautifully grotesque works. As indicated by the title of the exhibition, many of these new sculptural pieces feature the incorporation of the specific fabric in the work, adding a nice new texture. Last time Ron English was prepping for a show in the UK, he invited us over for a visit in his New Jersey based studio. Fast forward a few years, he’s moved into a large house in suburb of Beacon, New York. This Friday night in Seattle, art lovers will be in for a treat as not one, but two talented artists open a joint show together at the Roq La Rue Gallery. Both John Brophy and Melissa Forman focus their narratives on female protagonists with imagery filled with symbolism and mysticism.
