American artist David Choe (featured) has spent the last several weeks working on his exhibition opening August 17th at the Museo Universitario del Chopo. Brazilian artist Herbert Baglione recently visited Mexico City for the opening of his newest solo show “Obituary” @ Fifty24Mx gallery. The new show includes new paintings and installations by the artist. It is part of his continuing body of work he started at Contemporary Art Museum of Bogota in August of 2012, strongly inspired by death, human imperfection, and spiritual rebirth. Last week, New York artist Rostarr (featured) unveiled his latest body of work in Mexico City at Anonymous Gallery. This inspiring series of paintings entitled Turbo Arena draws from his hypnotic signature style that is a smooth mash-up of iconography, graphics & calligraphy. This Thursday night (February 7th) in Mexico City, the artist known as Rostarr (featured) will be opening a solo show at Anonymous Gallery. Otherwise known as Romon Kimin Yang, the New York-based painter will be bringing with him all new works collectively entitled Turbo Arena, all featuring his signature blend of iconography, calligraphy, and graphics. Invader x Jason deCaires Taylor Collaboration

After invading space, finally living up to his full name, Space Invader has decided to explore another frontier – the underwater realm. With an assist from Jason deCaires Taylor, whose underwater sculptural coral reefs and photography was featured in a recent show in New York, the French street tilist has affixed his classic imagery on the side of one of the reefs in Cancun adding another exotic locale notch to his belt of conquest. Even though they typically combine their artistic powers (like for their their solo in Los Angeles at the end of 2011) to produce their colorful and surreal works, Ukrainian duro Interesni Kazki split up for some recent street murals at different sides of the Atlantic. While Waone (above) was in Lublin, Poland for the Europejska Fundacja Kultury Miejskiej Festival, Aec (below) was in Mexico for some individual work as well as collaborations with Saner and Sego. Preview: Ericailcane – “Una Vita Violente” @ FIFTY24MX Gallery

Tomorrow night in Mexico City, Italian street specialist Ericailcane will be opening up a show alongside compatriot HitneS at the FIFTY24MX Gallery. This new body of work, Una Vita Violente, was inspired by writings of Pier Paolo Pasolini, and will metaphorically explore the human condition at its most brutal state through his signature animal characters rendered in his illustrative style.
