With the 2015 MTV Movie Awards set to go live on April 12th, the television channel has revealed the new logo designed by Dabs Myla. You may remember that last year, KAWS was tapped work with the VMA’s, so it’s not surprise that they have continued hiring on talented artists that their viewers can relate too. One of the releases coinciding with Basel Week Miami is this wicked project between Maya Hayuk and DJ / producer Sid Vaga. The idea behind this release was that “the best collaborations come from two voices that create a third, unique voice.” Known for creating art that is inspired by the neon lights and party culture, this is not the first time Hayuk has mixed art with music. For their 25th anniversary issue, British GQ enlisted the help of Damien Hirst to design the cover along with Rihanna. Styled with snakes entwined on the R&B singer’s body and on her head as well as slit eye contacts, the spread certainly has references to the mythical Medusa. The always productive Cyrcle. crew has blessed Los Angeles with another epic mural. This time, on a wall provided by Branded Arts, the boys collaborated with Woodkid on a piece that is located on the hotbed art gallery Hollywood intersection of Santa Monica Blvd and Highland. With this year’s Video Music Awards from MTV only several days away, installation has already started for the event. ESPO (featured), who recently showed in Brussels at the Alice Gallery (covered), found time for a fun project last week. Taking the tempting blank slate of the minimalistic cover of Kanye West’s new Yeezus album, Mr. Powers covered the entire case with his characteristic imagery.
