London based abstract artist O.Two is currently in France painting a commissioned wall at a large concert venue in La Rochelle and he sent us along a few progress pictures of the piece coming together. The mural combines his typographically inclined abstract stylings with figurative elements – somewhat of a first for him. With a glimpse of the setup to whet your appetite yesterday, here is now the main course – completed photos from Project M/5 from Urban Nation. The lineup, curated by Roland Henry and VNA Magazine, featured Mark Lyken, Inkie, Pam Glew, Fran Bosoletti, Will Barras, Eine, Steff Plaetz, Nick Walker, O. Openings: “Space//Squared” @ White Walls Gallery

Last month, White Walls Gallery in San Francisco opened a group exhibition entitled Space//Squared. Curated by Sven Davis, the showing was a followup to an event last year in Portland (covered). This time around, participating artists were again asked to contribute artwork in a 10 x 10″ format. Gamma Transport Division has been bringing a healthy mix of graffiti-based exhibitions over recent months to the city of Edinburgh. Their latest show features London-based artist O.Two, also known as James Carey. Described as” a collection of works drawing on themes of delinquency, obsession, and exclusion,” Phosphene Smoke features a new selection of canvases utilizing his unique blend of typographical sloganeering and abstract color fields. Breeze Block Gallery opened their huge group show Wider than a postcard (previewed) alongside the first solo show in their new gallery 2 space – olive47’s bonita bonita (featured) a couple of weeks back to a packed Portland crowd. Over 400 individual works went into the postcard show with 200 artists providing postcard sized works. On the back of his Space//Form group exhibition last year (covered), Arrested Motion’s Sven Davis is working with Breeze Block Gallery in Portland again on another huge group event entitled Wider than a postcard.
