A couple months ago, the 2018 edition of the POW! WOW! Hawaii was held on the island of Oahu, a week long annual event that celebrates culture, music and art. As always, the focus for us is the action that happens on the streets of Kaka’ako as local and international artists gather to paint live murals. With this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii fast approaching, it’s time to preview the annual associated Exploring The New Contemporary Movement group exhibition (see 2017 & 2016 & 2015 & 2014) curated by Thinkspace. The fifth iteration of the group exhibition will open on February 11th and will once again be held at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, featuring a larger 24″ x 24″ format. Upcoming: POW! WOW! Hawaii 2018

Returning to its home base after associated events last year in Washington D.C., Israel, California (Long Beach & San Jose), Worcester (Massachusetts), Guam, Seoul, Kobe, and Taiwan, the POW! WOW! crew will be kicking off the new year in Hawaii with the main festival from February 10th to 18th.
