Releases: James Jean – “Azimuth” Catalog

On October 9th at 8 AM PDT, James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing the catalog for his show last year at Kaikai Kiki Gallery. Azimuth will include the artwork, installation photos, and process images from the exhibition in Japan, as well as ancillary works created in the same period. Releases: Skullphone – “California Collection” Print Set

Poster Child Prints recently released some new limited editions from Skullphone as a three part print series. Created in runs of 100, Gold Foil Grid, West Covina and Locksmith are $125, $75, and $50 respectively and come signed and numbered. Streets: Ernest Zacharevic (New York)

A couple of days ago, Ernest Zacharevic made this new playful yet emotive intervention on the streets of NYC. Titled Human Flow, the piece was directly inspired by Ai Weiwei’s documentary from which the artist borrowed the title, feeling the urge to produce a work that passes along its important message. The image features a group of little kids floating on safety rings accompanied by picture-book like birds. Releases: Glenn Barr – “Otaku Print Set”

Currently available through July 10th, an “Otaku Print Set” featuring the work of Glenn Barr is available at 1xRUN. Compiling four 11 x 13″ prints together (Used Heroes, Godzilla’s Ghost, Astro Defiance, Monster Zero), the Detroit-based artist has created images that fanboys will instantly notice with characters like Astroboy, Ultraman, and Godzilla populating his surreal world. Releases: James Jean – “Sun Tarot” Print

Tomorrow (June 12th) starting at 8:00 AM PDT, James Jean (interviewed) will be making a new print available for 24 hours only. Entitled Sun Tarot, this time-limited giclee comes with gold foil accents and custom designed embossments and of course will be signed and numbered. Measuring 27″ tall × 19-1/2″ wide (image size 23-3/4 ″ tall × 17″ wide), this edition based on a painting (seen below) from James’ recent show in Japan (covered) will be available here starting at the appropriate time. Last year at the US-Mexico border fence, a large scaffolded installation (covered) from JR (interviewed) was put in place to bring attention to the issue of immigration. If you remember, the he later organized a massive picnic (covered) with his signature eye motif adorning the table, leading to an iconic photo from above.
