Our friend Roger Gastman has been a busy boy. First he was the consulting producer for Exit Through the Gift Shop, then he curated the Sanrio anniversary art show, and later in 2011, he’ll be helping the MOCA to curate their Art in the Streets exhibition. It seems like Arkitip has been involved in some pretty cool projects recently including the Andrew Schoultz show at their space in LA and the recent Jose Parla x Incase releases. A couple weeks ago, Marion Peck along with husband Mark Ryden hosted a book signing for Peck’s first fine art monograph, Animal Love Summer, at Sloan Fine Art in New York. This coincided with her recently opened and current show What You Are, So Once Were We which featured new paintings (large and small) and sculptural pieces. Allison Sommers’ Hand-Painted Book

Inspired by her recent visit to the NY Art Book Fair (where we spied Tauba Auerbach’s upcoming pop-up book), Allison Sommers (interviewed) decided to work on a project of her own. The resulting labor of love was GK:2, a beautiful handpainted and hand-sewn art book put together using watercolor paper and bound by wallpaper scraps.
