Our friend Jasper Wong stopped by the “Trespass” book release and signing a couple weeks ago at the Beverly Hills outpost of Taschen and snapped some pics for us. In related news, the final event of the year surrounding the publication will be a signing at Art Basel Week. For those Mark Ryden fans out there who have the bankroll, Porterhouse will be releasing a beautiful new print portfolio based on his Snow Yak show. The set will include all 10 images (eight paintings and two drawings) from the exhibition held in Japan in 2009 at the Tomio Koyama Gallery, come in an edition of 50, and cost you $4750. Each 13-7/8″ x 10-7/8″ print is numbered and hand-signed by the Ryden and will be released this Wednesday, November 24 at 8:00 a.m. PST […]

Teaser: Elbow-Toe @ the Warrington Museum

It looks like Elbow-Toe’s (interviewed) work was recently featured in the Fall Fashion issue of Paper Magazine. You’ll be seeing that image, entitled “Sweet Dreams” again as it will be featured in his upcoming show at the Warrington Museum in the UK. The show entitled “Due Date” will be opening in December and will be we think his first major show since the end of 2008 in LA. Discuss Elbow-Toe here.

Coinciding with his show at Ratio 3, Dashwood Books is releasing a book based on Ryan McGinley’s “Life Adjustment Center” (covered) exhibition. The book will ship Nov 8, but you can pre-order yours today. It is $45, hardcover, 7″ x 9.5″, and an edition of 3,000. Dashwood also has a few copies of his last book (their first with the artist) as well, which you should pick up soon, if you’ve been sleeping on it. Discuss Ryan McGinley here.

Our friends at Hi-Fructose will be releasing their Hi-Fructose Collected Edition Vol. 2 tomorrow (November 4th, 6:30 – 8:30 pm) at the SFMOMA. Recently, AM attended the VIP preview of Tachen’s latest art book: Trespass: A History of Uncommissioned Urban Art. Written by Carlo McCormick, curated by our friends Marc & Sara Schiller at the Wooster Collective, and edited by Ethel Seno, this behemoth houses tons of pictures documenting graffiti and other forms of unsanctioned art all around the globe.
