Upcoming: Rime – “Conclusions” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

This Saturday night (February 20th), Conlusions from Rime (otherwise know as Jersey Joe) will be opening at Jonathan LeVine Gallery at their 529 West 20th Street location in New York. This debut show with the gallery from the MSK-affiliated graffiti artist will feature his mischievous cartoon characters that are commonly seen on the streets combined with a more abstract art direction. Upcoming: Rime – “Conclusions” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

On February 20th, Rime (otherwise know as Jersey Joe) will be opening his debut show with Jonathan LeVine Gallery at their 529 West 20th Street location in New York. Conclusions will feature a future turn towards figurative abstraction from the MSK-affiliated graffiti artist making use of bold colors and energetic compositions. Rime Sues Moschino & Jeremy Scott Over Katy Perry’s Met Gala Dress

Like Maya Hayuk earlier this year, Joseph Tierney aka Rime has also filed suit for copyright infringement. The Brooklyn-based graffiti artist alleges that Moschino and its designer Jeremy Scott imitated a graffiti tag that he painted on a Detroit building for Katy Perry’s Met Gala dress. Not only did they allegedly take the VandalsEYES imagery and his signature without his permission but they also added the Moschino and Jeremy Scott brand names in a spray-paint style as if part of the original work. Previews: “Cruel Summer” @ Jonathan Levine Gallery

Tonight, in the middle of a hot NYC summer, Jonathan LeVine Gallery will be opening a group exhibition entitled Cruel Summer. Curated by collector, graffiti historian and urban anthropologist Roger Gastman, the exhibition is inspired by the summer of 1984 and the song Cruel Summer by Bananarama. POW! WOW! ’14 / Openings: RVCA x TWSL – “#RVCATWFSL”

Last night in conjunction with POWWOW ’14, RVCA & The Seventh Letter teamed up to put on an exhibition featuring some of the graffiti & street artists they are affiliated with.
