Over the weekend, Corey Helford Gallery christened their new space in Downtown LA with a solo from Ron English (featured) that has been two years in the making. Entitled NeoNature, the new body of work features an imaginative menagerie of strange creatures and different evolutionary paths mixed in with some pop culture references. Visitors also enjoyed new sculptural works from the Mr. Popaganda, some of which were embedded in immersive environments. Photo credit: Birdman Photos. Discuss Ron English here.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary edition with 120 international exhibitors from 22 countries and 57 cities, the fair had something for everyone including this Suck Face bronze from D*Face seen above and the Felipe Pantone installation seen directly below. The Brandalism project started in 2012 in London when two friends, sick of the visual pollution of their city, spent five days reclaiming 36 billboards in five cities in the UK. Two years later, we saw reclamation of over 360 corporate advertising spaces with hand made original art works submitted by 40 international artists. This year, on the 28th December, The United Nations 21st ‘Conference of Parties’ aka Cop21 was the perfect backdrop for their biggest project to date. 600 posters were installed in outdoor media […]

Back in 2012, we covered the first mural in Manhattan from Ron English (featured) in over 25 years, featuring his signature Temper Tot figure, a play on The Incredible Hulk. Over the last couple days, the New York-based artist has added a pink brother to the original piece on an adjacent wall for the L.I.S.A Project. Located on 114 Mulberry Street in Little Italy, the matching murals are dedicated to English’s kids Zephyr and Mars, the original Temper Tots. Discuss Ron English here.
