POW! WOW! ’15 / Openings: RVCA #ThePod @ Modern Honolulu

On February 13th, the day before the official closing of POW! WOW! Hawaii 2015 (more coverage here), one of the main partners of the event, RVCA, organized an interesting show at Modern Honolulu, curated by PM Tenore. The visitors had a chance to see the collection of surfboards that surfing superstar Kelly Slater and RVCA artist Kevin Ancell collaborated on. Francesco Igory Deiana Installation at RVCA (SF)

Francesco Igory Deiana (featured) recently finished an installation in the window of RVCA on Haight St in SF. Using wood and spray paint, he built a structure using his recognizable geo elements painted with bright neon red and orange color with dark cloudy stains over them. With a such distinctive setup, the San Francisco-based artist definitely managed to get the store window more noticeable on this famous, already very bright and colorful street. Ryan De La Hoz has been grabbing our eye over the last couple of years and appreciation of his artwork has been building momentum rapidly recently. Openings: “Whammy! The Art Show” @ VASF

Artist friendly clothing company RVCA recently opened their “Whammy! “show (teased) at their retail space/gallery VASF in San Francisco.  Focusing entirely on domestic talent, “Whammy!” features the artwork of such stateside luminaries as Jeff Soto (interviewed), Dave Kinsey, Anthony Lister (interviewed), Kelsey Brookes and Tiffany Bozic, to name a few.  More photos after the jump.
