Releases: Ryan McGinley – “Life Adjustment Center” Book

Coinciding with his show at Ratio 3, Dashwood Books is releasing a book based on Ryan McGinley’s “Life Adjustment Center” (covered) exhibition. The book will ship Nov 8, but you can pre-order yours today. It is $45, hardcover, 7″ x 9.5″, and an edition of 3,000. Dashwood also has a few copies of his last book (their first with the artist) as well, which you should pick up soon, if you’ve been sleeping on it. Discuss Ryan McGinley here.

In a continuation of the two themes displayed at London’s Frieze Art Fair (covered) this month, Ryan McGinley is set to reveal his newest collection of luminous photographs with Ratio 3, his second solo endeavor with the San Francisco gallery. Opening this Friday, Life Adjustment Center (teased) will juxtapose two distinctly disparate, yet immediately recognizable bodies of work. Continue after the jump.

The Frieze Art Fair is soon upon us. Occupying Team Gallery’s booth at Frieze will be a group show consisting of a few of their represented artists. Among them is Ryan McGinley, who will be showing photos from his most recent road trip, as well as more b&w studio portraits of models with exotic animals. That’s right, Ryan McGinley’s next solo exhibition will take place at Ratio 3, opening on Oct. 29. As with all McGinley shows, it will be highly anticipated and it will be huge. The warm weather season is almost over. We know what’s been on everyone’s mind: “what sort of magical goodness has Ryan McGinley been creating for us this summer?” Well, we can now start answering that question. The talented artist went to the Pitchfork Music Festival and documented his two favorite bands on camera. Smith Westerns and Girls are the subjects of this intimate film. To accompany Ryan McGinley’s insanely popular exhibition (the opening had to be shut down by the fire marshal due to the volume of the crowd) Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, Dashwood Books has released a limited edition, hardcover book featuring images from the acclaimed photographer’s current show at Team Gallery.
