After painting a sublime mural (covered here) at POW! WOW! Hawaii with his friend Kevin Ancell, SABER (interviewed) went right back to work when he returned to Los Angeles. The amazing roster this year for POW! WOW! Hawaii (more coverage here) also included legendary LA writer SABER (interviewed) and RVCA advocate Kevin Ancell. The MSK-affiliated SABER contributed a volcano and some of the figurative imagery rendered with amazing spray can control while the Bay Area-based Ancell (who also opened an exhibition that week) added his script and some other elements. In conjunction with the relaunch of his website, SABER (interviewed) has made a new series of paintings and serigraphs ($1200 & $250 respectively) available for purchase through his webstore. Besides a group exhibition featuring a great list of artists, a DJ set by Talib Kweli, and a chance to benefit the Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, attendees may also want to attend the Branded Arts extravaganza tonight at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood because of a print release from SABER (interviewed).
