Projects: Matt W. Moore, Push, Victor Reyes @ The Z (Detroit)

After updating you with a new mural from Augustine Kofie (featured) in Detroit, it’s time to share some more fresh work from three other artists involved with the project. Curated by the Library Street Collective for a downtown mixed-use development (referred to as “The Z”), the undertaking had many American artists involved like Matt W. Moore, Push, Victor Reyes. As you can see, taken in series, their abstract imagery fit nicely together. More photos below… Photo credit: Theonepointeight. Discuss Augustine Kofie here.

Projects: Augustine Kofie @ The Z (Detroit)

Back in October, we shared with you a project that the Library Street Collective in Detroit had arranged at a downtown mixed-use development (referred to as “The Z”). A series of murals had been painted already in the ongoing venture at that time and now we have updates for you on some of the newer walls. This particular piece we are focusing on here was created by Augustine Kofie (featured) as you can see from the architectural influenced abstract imagery. Photo credit: Theonepointeight. Streets: Risk, Meggs, Insa, Uglar, Echo – Abandoned Water Park Project

One of our contributing photographers in the past, Birdman, recently arranged for some artists to paint in an abandoned water park located somewhere in the Mojave Desert between California and Las Vegas. The project in association with VNA saw Risk, Meggs, Insa (along with some suicide girls decked out in Insa gear), Uglar, and Echo made their mark in and around the structures that exuded the aura of a failed American Dream. More photos from the can be seen in Issue 24 of Very Nearly Almost Magazine with some […]

Streets: Sam3 (Barcelona)

Spanish artist Sam3 recently visited Barcelona where he created a new beautiful mural titled Park. Rendered with his familiar technique of using only black color and painting silhouettes, this public piece feels both very light and strong, fitting perfectly to the environment it is placed in. The piece shows four trees whose treetops form heads which communicated with each other with birds flying from one tree to the other. With a closer look, one notices that the leaves of the treetops are actually little birds […]

Streets: Os Gemeos – Nelson Mandela Tribute

With the recent passing of Nelson Mandela, the world mourns the South African anti-apartheid revolutionary who had become an inspiration to the oppressed everywhere. His views and life seem to align with philosophies of many street artists out there who create work along the same lines with the themes Mandela supported. Os Gemeos recently posted up a tribute piece they did with a caption and quote – “Poverty is not an accident. Like slavery and apartheid, it is man-made and can be removed by the actions […]

Streets: JR @ National Library of France (Paris)

French “photograffeur” JR (interviewed) recently turned the facade of the National Library of France in Paris into his largest photo printer yet as he brought his Inside Out project back home again. Pasted in strips over the course of a week in November, the striking image and clever use of the building further cements himself as one of his country’s foremost street artists. Take a look at more images below… Photo credit: truxi. Discuss JR here.
