Streets: Augustine Kofie (Venice, California)

The Los Angeles-based Augustine Kofie (featured) recently headed down to work on a new mural installation at the Amplify Campus in Venice, California. Upcoming: A&C Shop @ HVW8

Art fans in Los Angeles tonight (7-10pm) may want to check out the opening of A&C Shop at the HVW8 Gallery. Fame Fest ’12: Interesni Kazki

Artistic duos in the street art scene don’t often work on their own, but Interesni Kazki has done so on multiple occasions. This is exactly what happened for this year’s Fame Festival, as AEC left his brother and headed over to Grottaglie to get up on his own. Streets: World Roundup (Aug 20 – 26)

The summary of last week’s street activity is headlined by this new mural from Aaron Martin (aka Angry Woebots) in Hawaii. The piece which is located in the kaka’ako district at the UFC Gym (BJ Penn) in Honolulu was painted in preparation for the upcoming POW WOW event. Art Focus: Ernest Zacharevic

This week, we would like to introduce you to the work of Ernest Zacharevic for our Art Focus feature. The Lithuanian artist has been recently putting up work in the streets of Penang, Malaysia that speak to his eye for placement. Streets: Miss Van & Dan Quintana (Los Angeles)

Last week in Culver City, Miss Van (who was in town for her show at Copro Gallery) and Dan Quintana combined their powers for mural at the Branded Arts Complex. For this wall, entitled The Big Bad Wolf, street French femme fatale and the Los Angeles-based Quintana created a scene involving Vanessa’s signature poupée’s posed with a large wolf. Streets: Walk & Talk Festival (Part III) – Mark Jenkins and Sandra Fernandez

After sharing with you works from Vhils and Liqen for this year’s Walk & Talk Festival, we turn our attention to the contributions of Mark Jenkins (interviewed) and Sandra Fernandez. The two artists decided to create some whimsical tape sculptures “riding” down to the ocean for the annual event held on the Archipelago of the Azores in Portugal. Streets: Aryz (Copenhagen)

Despite the difficulties in painting over brick, Spanish street artist Aryz has finished a beautiful new mural in Copenhagen for the Galore Festival. As you can see from the photo above, this new piece is right next to the tower that ROA painted at last year’s event. Streets: Invader (Hong Kong)

Invader recently brought his street invasion to Asia with this new piece in Hong Kong. According to his logs, the anonymous French artist has been to the city-state before and has mapped out some of the spots he has hit up, although this piece might be a legal one. Streets: El Mac x Augustine Kofie x Jaque Fragua (New Mexico)

El Mac, who recently shared his album cover design for the new No Doubt album, was in New Mexico over the weekend for the The Hour Has Arrived initiative – a program designed to recognize the importance of fostering and preserving the craft of the Indian, which now includes the culturally informative and interactive Native Public Arts. Put together as by both Beals & Abbate Fine Art and the New Mexico Museum of Art, the project brought artists like Mac and Augustine Kofie (featured) in to collaborate with Native American street artist.
