Openings: “Pattern Recognition” @ Subliminal Projects

Last weekend, Subliminal Projects played host to “Pattern Recognition”, a group exhibition from a great set of artists including Seonna Hong, Nikki McClure, Dalek (interviewed), Richard Colman (interviewed), and Souther Salazar. Particularly eye catching for us were the colorful works of Seonna and Souther although the works of Dalek and Colman seemed to fit the premise of the show a little more closely. More opening pics after the jump…

Reminder: Ron English – “Status Factory” @ Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion (OCC)

Apparently, that mural Ron English (featured) was working on in Miami that we first brought you here is completed.  He ended with a cool extension of the wall piece onto the ground and with the placement of some of his “Camo Deer” figures. We first saw these pieces at his impressive “Status Factory” pop-up show in New York (covered) and for west coast fans of his work, make sure you stop by on Friday night (November 12th) as the show moves to the Frank M. […]

Interviews: Best|Ever

Best|Ever is the collective nom de guerre of Neil Edwards and Hadley Newman. The duo have been painting together for the last years and their photo-realistic spray-can work has sent ripples of excitement through us here at AM since we first witnessed their highly technical, but equally soulful work. Since presenting a showcase of their work in London earlier this year, they are now set to roll with a full-on solo show ‘Some Anatomies of Melancholy’, opening this Thursday, November 11th at Blackall Studios. We […]
