Josh Keyes posted a stunning new image up today from his upcoming show “Mist” at OKOK gallery next month. We really love the multiple levels of interactions in this piece. From the water-fire hydrant association to the predator-prey relationships of the eagle-rabbit & bear-fish, there certainly is much to think about. Openings: Masakatsu Sashie @ Giant Robot 2

Masakatsu Sashie‘s show “Under Fluorescent Light” opened last Saturday at GR2 on the west side. As usual, his detailed spheres encompassing urban elements (buildings, vending machines, air conditioners, television sets) were quite eye-catching. It’s as if his so-called “orb paintings” shrunk the ingredients of city living into a compact package for consumption. The second annual Baby Tattooville is fast approaching (October 3-5). This unique event, billed as a “limited edition retreat for artists & collectors,” has grown on us and Arrested Motion will be on hand to cover the event. The idea was for 50 paying attendees to spend the weekend participating in scheduled activities (panels, workshops, etc) and to socialize with the eventâ€™s artists. Many have waited with baited breath for the first photos from Audrey Kawasaki’s first solo show out of the States to appear on the net. She finally had a chance to upload show photos from Mondo Bizzarro (Italy) onto her blog yesterday. For a couple weeks, the only image available was her next to her showstopper “Two Sisters” that had been floating around on flickr. “I’m sure” 68×68 Today Kaws (AKA Brian Donnelly) will open his exhibition “Saturated” at Emmanuel Perrotin in Miami. Ending his long hiatus from the gallery circuit, Kaws will make his long awaited return with a gallery known for representing blue chippers such as: Takashi Murakami and Robert Stadler.
