Openings: Hush – “Fatales” @ The Outsiders

After completing a high profile project working on the interiors of TAO a the Maritime Hotel in New York, Hush (interviewed) returned to the UK to open a solo at The Outsiders in London. Fatales features paintings and sketches from the Newcastle-based artist rendered in a style familiar to fans of the Hush melding Eastern & Western influences. Streets: Banksy – “Better Out Than In” (New York) – Final Days

Since we last mentioned Banksy’s ongoing art residency in the Big Apple, he’s since created a piece near Yankee Stadium (seen below) and painted over an existing piece in a thrift shop for charity (also seen below). And now, earlier today, he brought the historic Better Out Than In to a close with his take (seen above) on the bubble tags made famous by vandals in New York. The inflatable throw-up was seen on the Long Island Expressway near Queens. Discuss Banksy here.

Ernest Zacharevic recently visited Singapore where he created several fantastic street pieces. Known for his street art installations, where he combines his realistic painting with the use of 3D objects, the Lithuanian born artist created several very playful pieces around city. Prolific NYC-based artist KAWS has been very active lately showing his paintings & sculptures at art fairs & museums. After the FIAC art fair in France, two museum shows in the US at the PAFA (covered) and Nerman Museum (covered), and only few days before opening a solo show at Galerie Perrotin in NYC, the artist announced the release of a silkscreen prints portfolio on his Instagram. Releases: Faile Book Covers

If you missed it last year, tomorrow (October 30) around noon (Eastern Standard Time), Faile will be releasing some more new book covers with imagery from their recent show Les Ballets de Faile (Part I, Part II) at the New York City Ballet in New York. Priced at $1,250, each one will be unique with silk screened images overtop collaged paper as well as float mounted in a white frame. Projects: Library Street Collective Indoor Murals @ The Z (Detroit)

The Detroit-based gallery, Library Street Collective, recently started a big project in downtown Detroit. In collaboration with Detroit entrepreneur/real estate mogul Dan Gilbert, they are commissioning 23 artists from all over the world to paint murals in a newly constructed mixed-use development (referred to as “The Z”). Known as The Garage Project or The Z, this project is now about 30% done. Tomorrow night (October 29), the French street bomber known as Invader & Jonathan LeVine Gallery will be premiering a special screening of ART4SPACE (covered) for fans in New York City.
