Upcoming: “Lazarides Presents…” @ Lazarides (Rathbone Place)

On October 31st, Lazarides’ main location (Rathbone Place) will play host to a new group show entitled Lazarides Presents… The exhibition will give attendees an idea of what to expect from the new show cycle for 2013 with works from stalwarts like JR, Conor Harrington (above), Jonathan Yeo, Antony Micallef, Faile, as well as some new blood like Know Hope – see the full list below… The show will run through November 22nd so stop by if you have a chance. Releases: Shepard Fairey x The Simpsons “Dope” Poster

Remember that episode of The Simpsons where Shepard Fairey, Ron English, Kenny Scharf, and Robbie Conal made an appearance and Bart taps into the street art craze with imagery inspired by Homer.  Well, the Dope stencil that Bart was seen putting up all over town is now available as a poster from Shep as an open edition through Urban Outfitters. Kickstarter: Stephen Glassman – “Urban Air” Billboards

Artist Stephen Glassman, whose work features the utilizing of bamboo, has a plan to transform the urban landscape of Los Angeles. The project is entitled Urban Air, and its goal is to transform existing billboards to living, suspended bamboo gardens as an artwork, symbol, and instrument for a green future. Streets: RIME x Converse (New York)

After recently joining some friends for a burner on the rooftops of Brooklyn, RIME returns with another mural in BK (on Grand and Union). Like another piece we highlighted from David Ellis (here), this wall from the MSK-affiliated graffiti artist was secured by Converse. If you look carefully, you’ll see the shoe company’s signature star mixed in with the familiar cartoonish imagery of the artist otherwise known as Jersey Joe. Photo credit: Public Ad Campaign. Openings: Remi/Rough – “In The Presence of Angels” @ Soze Gallery

Last night, the Soze Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles opened their newest show, In The Presence of Angels with all new works from Remi/Rough. For his first solo in the United States, the UK-based artist put on display new paintings and sculptures which detail the evolution of his post-graffiti abstractionism. Streets: Vhils (Brazil)

After hitting up a slate of festivals recently (Komafest, Walk & Talk, and Fame Festival), Portuguese sensation Vhils has headed over to Brazil for a project of his own. These new pieces created through some of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro attempt to bring attention to the inhabitants of these slum areas. Faile in Mongolia (Part 2)

As we promised you a few weeks back, FAILE has unveiled their newest creation with Mongolian Sculptor, Bat Munkh. Entitled Wolf Within, the 5 meter fiberglass and steel creation was unveiled October 12th at National Garden Park, a new 1650 acre project in the heart of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
