Streets: Vhils (Portugal)

Portuguese artist Vhils’ unique work is always in high demand and because of this, he has been busy hitting up the hottest street art events around the world recently. Ever since we filmed his work in Los Angeles in August, he has consecutively hit up the Fame Festival, Walk & Talk Festival, a store facade in the UK, Nuart Festival, the Minotaur event, Wynwood Walls in Miami, and now finally back to his home country for the WOOL Festival in Covilhã. Streets: Case – Portrait of Khaled Said on Berlin Wall

Last month in Berlin, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation’s Human Rights Award for 2011 was awarded to Khaled Said of Egypt and Slim Amamou of Tunisia. Said’s sister, Zahraa Kassem received the award on the late activist’s behalf at a ceremony that included the unveiling of a portrait created by Andreas von Chrzanowski (aka Case) on remnants of the Berlin Wall and will be eventually placed in the Freedom Park (covered). Case, who we last caught up with at the Outside/In show in Los Angeles, utilized his […]

Streets: Angry Woebots & Pixel Pancho

Two members of the Army of Snipers crew, Aaron “Angry Woebots” Martin and Pixel Pancho, recently teamed up together for some large murals in Los Angeles. Martin doesn’t usually go so big, but his friend and collaborator from Italy showed the way. We especially like this wall with Martin’s signature panda character changed into a grizzly and Pixel Pancho with his robotic version. More photos after the jump…

Videos: Invader x VNA – “Paris 2011”

You may remember the special Invader screenprinted edition of the VNA magazine that we gave away here on AM a while back. Apparently, the Very Nearly Almost crew also produced a video while visiting with street artist in Paris where he gives them a little tour of what he has been working on as well as talks on camera on various things. Enjoy. Discuss Invader here.

Openings: Osgemeos – “Fermata” @ Museu Vale (Brazil)

Words cannot begin to describe the wonderment and joy one feels when confronted by these photos of the new Osgemeos exhibition at the Museu Vale in Brazil. It seems the twins always seem to save their best for the museums in their home country (see Vertigo and Vertigem), as well they should. From the complex sculptural builds featuring intricate inclusions of various art items and paraphernalia, to the grand expansion of the well received multi-colored stripes seen in some of their recent work, to their […]

More photos after the […]

Streets: Faile Mural on Bowery & Houston (Part I)

Guess who’s next up to bat for the infamous NYC wall located at the corner of Houston & Bowery? The boys that form the Brooklyn collective known as Faile (featured) took their swing and made their home city proud with this new mural seen above. Following in the footsteps of urban heavyweights such as Kenny Scharf, Barry McGee, Shepard Fairey, Os Gemeos, Keith Haring and most recently JR, the Patrick’s took this challenge head on. AM was invited to catch them hard at work creating the unique composition that features vintage […]

Videos / Streets: D*Face – Moniker Mural (London)

As mentioned in one of our recent Streets World Roundup and London Instagram Roundup articles, D*Face (interviewed) recently painted a mural for this year’s Moniker Art Fair. Well, D just sent over this video (filmed and edited by Rebels Alliance) of the entire process which was interesting as there was some discussson as to who painted over the logo. It looks like he lived up to his name… Also, we’ll have more for you soon as he will be opening a show on November 2nd at […]
