As Urban Nation continues their strong public arts program with their 8th phase (Project M/8) entitled FREEDOM, our attention is drawn back to Berlin to see what a new set of artists have to offer. Curated by StolenSpace, this chapter featured four columns on the facade of a building painted by Shepard Fairey, D*Face, Cyrcle., and Word To Mother with Maya Hayuk painting another section (more on her later). On Saturday, May 16th, Herakut and aptART opened an exclusive show at the studio and work space of Urban Nation in Berlin, presenting a collection of paintings, photographs and installations created both by German art duo and individuals & organizations across the Middle East, Europe and Africa. Streets: Phlegm (Berlin)

Invited in by Urban Nation for their continuing series of public arts projects, British artist Phlegm recently painted this challenging mural on a corner building in Berlin. As part of the One Wall Project, the Sheffield-based artist expertly navigated the architectural details on these walls in the Schöneberg area and livened up the cityscape with his signature characters. A couple weekends ago, Urban Nation continued their ongoing arts program in Berlin with a new show curated by Henrik Haven & Olly Walker entitled CUT IT OUT!. Focusing on the artistic merit of the stencil, the group exhibition brought together some well known street artists skilled with the technique. Last week, we brought you a look at some artists prepping for their window installations for the M/6 phase (curated by Jonathan LeVine) of the ongoing art program for Urban Nation. We now have some in situ pics of the pieces for you to enjoy. Along with the windows from Dan Witz, Jeff Soto, Nychos, Olek and Saner, artists Alo, ONUR & WES21 and CANVAZ were seen putting up their work in Berlin. We recently brought you a look at artists at work on the Urban Nation’s Project M/4 in Berlin, curated by Thinkspace.
