Urban Nation in Berlin recently teamed up with Juxtapoz Magazine, and its editor Evan Pricco, to curate their latest edition of PM/events. What In the World: The Juxtapoz Edition is the title of the group show that opened on May 19th, further introducing the wide range of urban art that this upcoming museum will be showing and supporting. On the 22nd of February, Urban Nation Museum for Urban Contemporary Art in Berlin hosted a Secret Dinner event for friends, supporters, contributors and artists participating in their ongoing programs. Around 100 guests from around the globe attended the event organized by the museum director Yasha Young and Berliner Leben, a non-profit foundation that initiated the UN project in 2013. On February 22, URBAN NATION in Berlin introduced the 11th edition of their Project M/ series with an exhibition titled Radius. Continuing their longstanding public arts program, Urban Nation in Berlin recently completed their ninth edition – Project M/9. Curated by JUSTKIDS and StreetArtNews, the event this time hosted Borondo (seen above), Fafi, Bicicleta Sem Freio, Askew, 1010, and Eron as they painted walls in the capital city with “Colors” as the theme. Last week, Urban Nation curated an event in Reykjavic in association with the Iceland Airwaves Music Festival where participants were paired with an audio artist who provided the visual artist with a song, a title, a poem, a quote or a book that greatly influenced their work. The series of works was entitled Wall Poetry and featured the works of D*Face, Elle, Evoca1, Tankpetrol, Cara, Ernest Zacharevic, Telmomiel, and DeihXLF (seen here) near venues where the bands will be playing during the festival from November 4-8 in Iceland’s capital. Recently in Berlin, Aaron Li-Hill (interviewed) finished up a sweet mural for the One Wall Project organized by Urban Nation. Entitled Rise and Fall, the new piece takes inspiration from the greek goddess of victory as well as the film Wings of Desire, both sourced from the background of the capital city. Navigating 24 windows on the facade of the building measuring five stories high, the wall painted ended up being Li-Hill’s largest one to date. After sharing the first set of photos from Urban Nation for the 8th phase (curated by StolenSpace) of their public arts program featuring Shepard Fairey, D*Face, Cyrcle., and Word To Mother painting four columns of a building, we now turn our attention to Maya Hayuk. For her part, the American artist worked amongst other murals painted before for the project, leaving her signature nterlocked stripes of color for her fans in Berlin to enjoy.
