Namely, FifthWall TV, who were capturing the action and getting artists and panel members to say a few things about the festival and this year’s theme, as well as MZM Projects who did a series of four films so far, providing us an extensive look into some of the most interesting […]

Last weekend in Los Angeles, Corey Helford Gallery opened their third showing with Martin Wittfooth (interviewed) entitled Domestic Katabasis. Featuring 19 oil paintings on canvas, linen, and wood panels, some of his largest to date, the new exhibition from the New York-based artist posits that perhaps the relentless progress of the human race is actually a decline or deterioration when viewed from a different prospective. Wittfooth further explains – “Katabasis is an ancient Greek term that refers to a descent of some type in mythology, usually into the underworld, out of which […]
After working over the course of five months, JR (interviewed) has finally revealed to the world his latest pojrect – a new TIME cover. Choosing people from all sides of the polarizing debate (veterans, teachers, hunters, doctors, people afraid that guns may kill their children and people afraid they won’t have […]

The painted freestanding and wall sculptures deal with viruses and the Fibonacci sequence, and feature Brookes’ signature psychedelic and colorful patterns. Check out the video below for further explanation if you are interested… Discuss Kelsey Brookes here.
The genius of Banksy was on display again Friday night in London when his iconic Girl Red Balloon sold for a record £953,829. Right after the hammer, the piece from the British artist ran through what appeared to be a remotely activated shredder hidden in the unusually thick frame, leaving half of the work hanging from the bottom in strips. The elusive street artist later took to social media to claim that he added the self-destruct option in the frame in case the piece was […]

Last week, Galerie Perrotin opened a solo show from Madsaki entitled French Fries with Mayo, the first time the Japanese artist has exhibited in Paris. On view are mostly pieces featuring his wife as his muse and pieces from his signature Wannabe series, crude imitations done in spray paint that initially can be be seen as critiques on masterworks from art history, but in actuality are his “attempts to use laughter and humor as both distraction and therapy for his internal turmoil.” To prepared for the exhibition, he […]
