Nick Walker (interviewed) will have a new print entitled The Last Ride on sale on Monday, the 12th October, at 3.30pm DST UK time. The print was inspired by a portrait by Butterfly featuring the UK artist in his signature vandal outfit riding a carousel horse next to the Eiffel Tower during a visit to the French capital. Produced in an edition of 150 on Somerset Satin 410 gms and sized at 66cm x 96 cm, it will be available for £400 online from the UK-based artist’s website. On October 1st, Roq La Rue opened it’s doors to a cavalcade of new works. Casey Weldon (featured) was welcomed back to the gallery for Hastemaker, where he continues to explore putting real people in surreal situations. Jeff Jacobson’s first solo show at Roq la Rue, titled Aphotic Ilk, explores a world between worlds. Coming up on October 18th, Dabs Myla will be unveiling an ambitious exhibition in the stand-alone 1930 built Spanish Revival workplace building, located on the Modernica factory property in Los Angeles. The husband and wife duo will takeoff the entire space, interior and exterior, with their paintings, sculptures, installations and exclusive furnishings from limited-edition fiberglass shell chairs and hand painted ceramics to custom-built lighting installations. Almost precisely one year since his debut show with the gallery, Todd James recently returned to Tokyo for his latest solo with Nanzuka Gallery titled Fly Like The Wind. James Marshall aka Dalek (interviewed) recently released a 38 color handpulled silkscreen through Dynamo Editions. Untitled 101 comes with a paper size of 26 inches by 26 inches and an image size of 24 1/2 inches x 24 1/2 inches and was produced in an edition size of 50. Thursday night, the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena will be opening OUTSIDEIN, an indoor and outdoor exhibition that is focused graffiti-based mural painting. Along with the wall painted by RISK that we showed you a few weeks back, artists Olivia Bevilacqua, David Flores, Chase, Robbie Conal, Cryptik, Jeanne Detallante, Shepard Fairey, James Jean, Geoff McFetridge, Kenny Scharf, and Jeff Soto have also made contributions. French artists and studio mates, Ludo and Rero, were recently visiting Colombia during the ArtBo Artfair week in Bogota. They were invited to create a collaborative installation at a 500 year old historical site where they incorporated their work into a colonial patio. Just this past weekend, the fifth and final edition of Beyond Eden was held at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Park. The bulk of the artworks exhibited was seen at booths from C.A.V.E. Gallery (Venice, CA), Copro Gallery (Santa Monica, CA), Spoke Art (San Francisco, CA), Hashimoto Contempoary (San Francisco, CA) and event organizers Thinkspace (Culver City, CA).
