Our friends over at OMG Posters have alerted us to a very nice set of screenprints entitled “Heartfelt Sentiments” that Upper Playground is releasing with Jeremy Fish. These four prints on wood are 11 x 14 and limited to 100 and are an affordable $200. This release seems to coincide with his show “Ghosts of the Barbary Coast” that opened recently … head over here if you are interested in purchase. More pics after the jump.
Although we have been enamored with Japanese artists for a while now, recently we have been increasingly interested in the Chinese art scene. It seems more and more intriguing artists are popping up on various sites… If you add to that, the fact that western artists seem to be showing more in Asia, the time seems ripe for the kind of crossover show that is opening this weekend in Seattle. “This is China” (teased), put together by Red Star Press at the location formerly known […]
Yoskay Yamamoto has been working closely with Munky King to produce the second colorway of his “Koibito” vinyl figure. The first is a gold and black colorway (edition of 500) and the second is a Munky King exclusive translucent-smoke colorway. (edition of 150) For the release Munky […]

Thinkspace has been very busy. First, their stellar lineup at the Gen Arts fair at Basel Week, (here) then right back in LA with a new show: Mostly Memory. This exhibit showcases two talented urban artists: Armsrock (Denmark) and Elbow-Toe (NYC). We have no doubt the gallery will be transformed with some crazy installations that are already in progress. Make sure you don’t miss the opening reception on Friday, Dec 12th (7-11pm). Thanks to Thinkspace/Sour Harvest, we gathered some preview images of their work for […]
Friday night ended with a bang at the OBEY x Z Trip party. But AM never told the tale of how this massive night of Basel parties started. The Gen Art Vanguard party was the Basel Friday night jumpoff where the “who’s who” of Miami were at. With heavy hitter sponsors such as FAGE, Citibank, and Bombay Sapphire footing the bill for drinks, Gen Art Vanguard was transformed into a true Miami mega event. Stars and artists lined up to grab their VIP goodie bags while everyone else […]
Matt Dangler’s “Out from the Whirlwind” opens at M Modern on December 12th in Palm Springs. Since we last talked to Matt (where he shared an image with us explained the theme of the show) we know many of you have been itching to see more of the body of work. We managed to get a couple more images for you, but you will have to wait until the show to see all of the of the paintings (please contact M Modern Gallery to be […]
Definitely one of the coolest fairs in Miami is the Gen Art Vanguard. (It probably doesn’t hurt to have one of the best parties of the week either). Housing some of the most cutting edge galleries: Carmichael, Thinkspace, M Modern, Mark Murphy, Galerie d’art Yves Laroche, and etc, this was one of the fairs that AM made a point to visit more than once at Basel Week. We were on site early Friday morning to make our rounds to shoot the artwork and massive party […]
Those who did not get enough of POW the first day went back for day two of the POW Open Day event. The second visit allowed more time to take photos of art and merchandise for sale. Probably the highlight was this Banksy canvas. More detailed pics of this as well as other work for sale after the jump.
Already revved up from the Gen Art Vanguard Gala (Here)… Friday night got even more crazy as DJ Diabetic and Ztrip tag teamed the turntables for a packed Shore Club in South Beach. Shepard gave back in his usual gracious fashion as he threw a party for all his friends and fans. The party was super packed but security kept it cool and managed the crazy crowd wait to see Shepard and Ztrip. Once inside, the vibe was amazing. Numerous peeps were in attendance: Jose Parla, […]
Art Basel is not the only game in town. The crush of quality art fairs are a dream and a curse for art lovers. One has only so much time in the day! The Pulse Art Fair was one of the stops for us and the amount of amazing art was unbelievable! If you were here, we would suggest that you get surgery to put your head on a swivel because you’ll constantly be spinning around like R2D2 trying to absorb the visual delights. Of course, […]
POW’s day one of their highly anticipated Open Day event kicked off yesterday to the delight of collectors. As expected, street art fans arrived in droves, with reports of lines exceeding three hours. Rights to purchase were determined by lottery with the first winner getting the special Nola (with different blue-green rain) and the second prize being a free Banksy “Very little helps” TESCO print. The other other winners got an option to buy the print (edition of 299, £350 ) – we can assume […]
