It’s been a wild few weeks of activity in which Yoshitomo Nara & Asia Society blessed the city of New York with a series of statues along Park Avenue, an Open-Studio Visit and a fantastic retrospective. It would be only fitting to send Nara-san back to Japan with a big bash. And indeed, earlier this week, Asia Society hosted a museum gala for its distinguished guest artist with many of the art scene’s who’s who was in attendance. A fun time was had by all as DJ Yo La Tengo & High Teen Boogie provided the entertainment while food and drinks flowed continuously.

Check it all out after the jump.

Remember when we mentioned that the first 50 attendees to the gala would recieve a special signed poster by Yoshitomo Nara? Well below are images of the actual signed posters for people who pre-donated for admittance. Each 18 x 24 inch vintage image was hand signed by Nara in an edition of 25.
