Last Saturday night, the Jonathan LeVine Gallery hosted the opening of SHAG’s (interviewed) newest body of work “Ambergris” (previewed). As indicated by the obscure title, the new collection of paintings are centered on a nautical, and more specifically, a whaling theme, all while maintaining his mid-century aesthetic. Happily, the artist was able to to make it to the opening despite an unfortunate accident that left him injured.
