Ron English x Chris Brown – F.A.M.E. Album Cover

The new Chris Brown album F.A.M.E.’s cover is out and it features the art of Ron English (featured). Now we know what they were talking about when they were spotted having dinner together several months ago with Chris sporting a tattoo of Ron’s art on his arm. No telling if this will help turn the disgraced R&B singer’s career around, but what we do know is this is the not the first (see Ron’s Slash cover) or last album cover Ron will be working on. […]

On Saturday, our friends at Giant Robot held a unique group show at their GR2 space. Originally, the event was conceived to raise funds for UNICEF’s Tap Project, which is an effort to get clean and accessible water to millions of children around the world. Releases: Zevs Liquidated Logo T-Shirt @ SLAGS

The site Secret Little Art Geeks (SLAGS), which has collaboratively produced limited edition T-shirts with such artists as John Baldessari, Curtis Kulig and Greg Lamarche, has just released a new shirt. Although cryptically listed on the site as being by “Anonymous,” the tee is in fact by the infamous French street artist Zevs (currently showing in New York), and features one of Zevs’ signature liquidated Chanel logos. It’s available for $35 here.

Brian Adam Douglas, a.k.a. Elbow-Toe (interviewed) was in London a couple of weeks ago for his Due Date solo exhibition (covered), currently on at Black Rat Projects. Xenz recently opened up his new show Pecking Disorder at The Outsiders, Lazarides’ Newcastle location. With his first show in his native north of England, the artist whose roots lay in graffiti, mixes his vibrant landscapes and in particular his love for birds with an urban setting. Charity / Releases: Shepard Fairey – “Dark Wave / Rising Sun” Print

Set to release online at a random time tomorrow, March 24th, is Shepard Fairey’s (featured) new print, Dark Wave / Rising Sun. Although the image may be a little foreboding for some collectors’ taste, the proceeds do go to a good cause – the relief efforts in Japan. The run will be 700, size 18″ x 24″, and priced at $60. For those of you who missed the INLE group show curated by Greg Simkin’s (featured) at Gallery 1988’s Melrose location, here is a video from Hurley that summarizes the show. Not only is there some nice footage of the hung paintings, Greg is also interviewed on camera and talks about how the show is based on Watership Down and the concepts behind the exhibition. Volta ’11 – Jim Houser @ Jonathan Levine Gallery

Jonathan LeVine Gallery’s entry to this year’s VOLTA art fair during this year’s Armory Week was artist Jim Houser. The Philly-based artist was in full effect as he brought a beautiful collection of fresh works that spanned an array of sizes and mediums. Much like his last show at Subliminal Projects, Mr. Houser took time customizing the booth with his unique installations including his custom soundtrack. Check it out after the jump.

Slow Your Roll, the first UK solo show by Brooklyn art duo Skewville, launched last Friday at High Roller Society. AM took advantage of the East London gallery’s new Sunday opening hours to visit over the weekend in the calm of a non-preview atmosphere. On the way, we spotted one of Skewville’s recent outdoor pieces, featuring the painted and foam-stamped word “BEEF” aptly done on the shopfront shutter of a local butcher.
