After a high profile showing at Harbour City Hong Kong in 2014 (covered), Tomokazu Matsuyama (interviewed) will be returning the the Asian city-state for an exhibition with the HOCA Foundation. Oh Magic Night, which sounds like o-maji-nai in Japanese, directly translated as good luck charm, will be a survey of the Brooklyn-based artist’s work expounding on themes of “mythological guardians, fictional tableaux and ornate abstraction.” Hosted at Shop 305, The Pulse (No. 28 Beach Road, Repulse Bay, Hong Kong) starting March 19, the show will include over 50 works including paintings and sculptures.
