After a high profile showing at Harbour City Hong Kong in 2014 (covered), Tomokazu Matsuyama (interviewed) will be returning the the Asian city-state for an exhibition with the HOCA Foundation. Oh Magic Night, which sounds like o-maji-nai in Japanese, directly translated as good luck charm, will be a survey of the Brooklyn-based artist’s work expounding on themes of “mythological guardians, fictional tableaux and ornate abstraction.” Hosted at Shop B104 – 305, The Pulse (No. 28 Beach Road, Repulse Bay, Hong Kong) starting March 19, the show will include over 50 works including paintings and sculptures.
