AM favorite Fuco Ueda has been off US soil for a while now, but she has still been producing exquisite artwork. For those of us that havn’t had the chance to visit Japan to see her efforts, Fuco has decided to release a book named “Lucid Dream” containing works from 1995-2011. Check out this nice video produced by Gestalten where Shepard Fairey was interviewed at his “Printed Matters” show & “Beyond the Street” signing at Subliminal Projects that allows viewers to hear Shep talk about the style and ideology behind Obey. With Part 2 of Psych Optic Black Light Fuzz, Dalek (interviewed) concluded his atypical, yet engaging dual exhibition at Hurley )( Space in Costa Mesa, CA, a stones throw away from where Part 1 (covered) was staged, in truly psychedelic fashion. Streets: New Banksy Work in London & BAFTA Nomination

In near perfect synchronicity with the “Sperm” piece Banksy officially claimed as his own through his website last week, another work popped up in the London Borough of Camden which bears striking resemblances to that of the illustrious street artist. AM made a special visit to Flowers Gallery to catch the show Perspective & Perception show by Patrick Hughes. Currently on view at Culver City’s always exciting gallery Cherry and Martin is Nathan Mabry’s Armature. The exhibition features five new sculptures and a sculptural fountain. The aluminum, bronze, and steel works are wonderfully odd, humorous, engaging, and both familiar and unexpected. The artwork references such artists as Picasso and other modernists while at the same time influenced by African and Native American art. Moving into a new gallery space in Chelsea, Freight + Volume brought together a fresh group show to christen in the new year. With art from Damian Stamer, Doug Fishbone, Tatiana Berg, Kristen Schiele (interviewed) and Eric White (interviewed), the exhibition gave us good vibes and even better visuals from classically painted works to unique video installations.
