Streets: Crash x Daze (New York)

As part of the continuing L.I.S.A Project in New York City’s Little Italy, Crash and Daze were recently invited to collaborate on a wall on Mulberry Street. For the two legendary NY writers, the mural was a natural extension of their friendship and professional lives as they share a studio together and were one of the first to make the jump from the streets to the gallery back in the 80’s. Take a look at more photos below… Photo credit: Joe Russo for Arrested Motion. Discuss Crash […]

Openings: “The Boneyard Project : Return Trip” @ Pima Art & Space Museum

Last weekend, the outdoor fields and indoor hanger Pima Art and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona were the venues for the hand-painted vintage planes of The Boneyard Project: Return Trip. While the the DC Super 3 planes painted by How & Nosm, Nunca, and Retna, a C97 cockpit by Saner, a C45 plane by Faile, and a Lockheed VC 140 Jetstar by Andrew Schoultz were already stunning enough as centerpieces of the exhibition, when you include the nose cones, cockpits, and other plane segments painted […]

Over the weekend, the Known Gallery unveiled the latest exhibit from New York based graffiti artists How & Nosm. Titled Achtung!, the show filled the gallery space to capacity as art aficionados were presented with more than 15 large scale paintings, more than 100 sketches & stencils, and a sculpture that sits in the middle of the gallery floor. The twins had arrived in Los Angeles last week and used the extra time to paint a large scale mural, but that project was simply a […]

Auction: Street Art @ Art Curial (Paris)

Well below the radar for most American and UK collectors, Art Curial in Paris have been putting together stronger and stronger offerings in the Graffiti, Street and Urban Art arena. After the 1980’s “graffiti in art galeries” boom died in the USA, many of the artists continued to do well in continental Europe and we are seeing some classic pieces show up in auctions like the one coming up on June 29th. There is a strong selection from 80’s NYC Graff Artists like Crash, Daze, […]
