Openings: Henry Gunderson – “New Work” @ Fecal Face Dot Gallery

Last Thursday night, Fecal Face Dot Gallery opened its doors to Henry Gunderson’s (interviewed) second solo show at the SF gallery (the first was in 2009, covered here). The exhibition consisted of of works in colored pencil & ink on paper (with some pieces affixed onto a bulletin board), his mixed media Linear series (which are comprised of the arrangement of various repeated inanimate objects), as well as a video sculpture reflecting his skateboarding lifestyle. Openings – New Directions @ White Walls

Opening alongside “Meticulous Engagements” at the Shooting Gallery was White Walls’ “New Directions” a group show consisting of five talents that the gallery has been building this past year.  Featuring Mark Warren Jacques (pictured above), Henry Gunderson (interviewed), Akira Beard, Robert Burden, and Cheryl Molnar. New Directions is a look at several distinctly different and unique styles each exploring their own directions. Full photo set after the jump.

Video: Mark Warren Jacques – “Mind Visit”

Portland artist Mark Warren Jacques (interviewed) will be returning to San Francisco soon and has released a video in conjunction with his visit. Entitled “Mind Visit”, the short film is an exploratory journey into both the mind and studio of the young artist as he diligently prepares for his part in the upcoming group show “New Territory” debuting next weekend at White Walls. Openings: Winter Group Show @ White Walls

In addition to Travis Louie’s (interviewed) opening at Shooting Gallery last weekend (covered), the Winter Group Show debuted alongside in the adjoining White Walls gallery.  Featuring some heavy hitters such as Shepard Fairey (featured), the Clayton Brothers (featured), and Anthony Lister (interviewed) the group show also boasts some upcoming and very exciting talent, namely artists like Nas Champas, Mark Warren Jacques (interviewed and pictured above), Aaron Nagel, and Casey Gray.  The Winter Group show will be open, along with Travis Louie’s show, till January 2nd. Preview: Winter Group Show @ White Walls

White Walls SF is gearing up for a big group show which features Kill Pixie, Greg Gossel (interviewed), Katy Horan, Ernesto Yerena, Timothy Karpinski, Mark Warren Jacques (interviewed), Erik Foss, Henry Gunderson (interviewed), Mike Shine, Phillip Lumbang, and more. Here’s a little sneak peak at some new works from Shepard Fairey (featured), Clayton Brothers (featured) and Anthony Lister (interviewed) that will be at this show. It opens this Saturday, December 12th for all you folks in the San Francisco area. Openings/Interviews: Henry Gunderson – “White Hole” @ Fecal Face Dot Gallery

This past weekend AM visited the Fecal Face Dot Gallery for the opening of “White Hole”, the debut show for SF artist Henry Gunderson. For those of you unfamiliar, Henry has shown at some of San Francisco’s most prestigious contemporary galleries, and has been recently featured on a number of excellent design websites such as Booooooom, Change the Thought, Design\Milk and The World’s Best Ever.
