Previews: Lonac – “Strange Tales” @ Thinkspace

For his first solo show with Thinkspace Gallery opening up on this Friday night (May 4th), Lonac has prepared a new body of work entitled Strange Tales. Choosing a title that fits nicely with his surreal imagery, the Croatian artist’s new paintings are typical of his oeuvre, snapshots in time that appear to be taken from some mysterious adventure. Informed by his time on the streets, the Zagreb-based artist also draws influence from his love of comics, music, film, and an immersion in skateboard culture. […]

Streets: Lonac (West Palm Beach)

Finally getting to paint in the US for the very first time, Lonac recently finished his largest mural to date. His newest piece I lost my shoe when I saw you is now adorning a four story building in centerl West Palm Beach as the biggest mural produced for the Canvas Festival. Given a facade with a couple of unfortunate architectural elements, the Croatian-artist worked his way around these using them to his advantage. With a line of windows splitting the surface in two parts, he […]

The Zagreb-based artist has built a reputation as a skilled artist known for impeccable photorealistic works done exclusively with spray paint. His newest piece shows a man working on a sail boat model, with a look of concentration […]

Streets: Lonac (Zagreb)

Following in the footsteps of innovative artists before him like Blu & INSA, Lonac has created an animated piece in Zagreb, Croatia. Painted by the locally-based artist in a secret location, the detailed heart has blood pumping through (although in the wrong direction). The reason may be revealed at later time as he promises what he has unveiled is part of a much bigger project. Via StreetArtNews. Discuss Lonac here.
