Last Saturday, Guererro Gallery hosted the opening for an exhibition featuring two artists who are truly masters at their craft: Mike Giant and Adam 5100 (previewed). Both artists displayed work not typically found in their previous exhibitions, which gave the show a more personal feel. Mike Giant (who was occasionally spotted riding around outside the gallery on his bicycle) displayed his usual crisp Sharpie work on paper, as well as works on canvas done with One Shot enamel, intricate tracings on paper, and collages featuring [...]

When The Vader Project rolls into Los Angeles tonight, June 11th, it will be at the end of a long four year journey. We just recently picked up a copy of the brand new edition of VNA – Issue 11 – which features Insa, Case, Gaia and Mike Giant amongst others. Last Saturday night saw the grand opening of San Francisco’s newest and very highly anticipated art space, Guerrero Gallery (previewed). Following his successful show last year at France’s Magda Danysz (covered), Mike Giant returned to the EU to open his “Welcome to Frisco” show last Thursday night at Milan’s Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea. Featuring his trademark clean lines and tattooed subjects, Giant’s showing looks to be a great introduction to the San Francisco aesthetic and culture for the Milanese people. 111 Minna will be presenting their latest show, “Neighborhood SF,” with the opening scheduled for tonight.Â Curated by Martin Olive and Ryan Malley, “Neighborhoods” is easily looking like one of the better group shows this year.Â Having SF artists interpret their respective neighborhoods is a great concept, and when you’ve got the likes of Jeremy Fish, Sylvia Ji, N8 Van Dyke, Mike Giant and David Choong Lee involved, well, let’s just say it takes the boring out of neighboring artists….
